As warm spring breezes arrive in March, female employees are blooming with extraordinary vitality. Marking the 116th International Women’s Day and the second anniversary of the company’s Operational Excellence initiative, the Labor Union of Sinochem Dongda rolled out a series of themed activities under the slogan Honoring Women’s Achievements, Embarking on the Journey of Excellence at both Zibo and Quanzhou sites from March 5 to 6. Combining fun competitions, creative handicrafts and wellness experiences, the events embedded Operational Excellence knowledge into interactive sessions. They showcased the uplifting spirit of female staff in the new era, galvanized all employees to pursue operational excellence and drive corporate growth, and delivered a warm, fulfilling and memorable festival for all women workers.
Zibo and Quanzhou branches tailored respective activities: a group based fun sports meet in Zibo and an individual challenge points based game in Quanzhou, integrating competition, recreation and the Operational Excellence philosophy.
On the morning of March 6, the square in front of the Zibo office building was filled with energy. Forty eight participants from six union branch teams competed in four team events: side by side relay, synchronized jumping, Retracing the Long March, and the Operational Excellence frisbee challenge. Female colleagues demonstrated seamless teamwork and a competitive spirit, coordinating their movements for relay hand offs, keeping pace in jump rope sessions, and working in unison to steer each game. The Operational Excellence frisbee stood out as the highlight, combining frisbee throws with knowledge quizzes. Participants deepened their understanding and recognition of Operational Excellence amid laughter and joy.
The individual points based games in Quanzhou were equally vibrant, featuring shuttlecock kicking, hula hoop and ring toss challenges. Female employees threw themselves into the activities and showed their strengths in a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere. They also received beautiful bouquets as festive surprises.
Alongside sports events, creative handcraft and wellness sessions were held in Zibo from March 5 to 6, enriching female employees’ cultural life and easing work related pressure.
At the decoupage DIY workshop, participants unleashed their imagination and manual skills, transforming plain canvas bags into one of a kind accessories through cutting and collage work. The hands on experience brought creative pleasure and strengthened workplace bonds.
Aerobic yoga classes ran concurrently in the union activity room. With soothing background music, participants followed step by step yoga guidance to stretch their bodies and regulate breathing. They released work related fatigue through steady breaths and gentle stretches, embracing a healthier lifestyle and a positive mindset.

At the closing ceremony, Sinochem Dongda’s leadership congratulated the winners and extended sincere festive greetings to all female employees. Leaders fully acknowledged the vital “half the sky” role women play across all business segments, and thanked them for bringing warmth and steadfast momentum to corporate development. The company labor union will keep supporting female employees’ career growth and build more development platforms, encouraging all women staff to sustain their passion and achieve further breakthroughs on the road toward operational excellence.
