To foster and practice a correct view of performance, thoroughly carry forward the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor and the spirit of craftsmanship, and enrich staff cultural sports activities, the Labor Union of Sinochem Dongda organized a two day one night wellness tour for 40 outstanding employees from May 22 to 23. The team visited the Huigong Qihe Wellness & Rehabilitation Base and the Education Base for the Three Work Related Spirits. Employees reflected on their original aspirations through thematic learning, improved their competence in competitions, demonstrated vitality in sports events and eased work related fatigue during the retreat, spending a fulfilling and heart warming time.
On the first day, all participants toured four themed exhibition halls at the Education Base for the Spirit of Model Workers, the Spirit of Labor and the Spirit of Craftsmanship. Guided by on site commentators, employees reviewed historical photos, physical exhibits and video materials to trace the evolution of the times and draw spiritual inspiration. They gained in depth understanding of the dedication and pursuit of excellence embodied by model workers, the core values of respecting and cherishing labor, and the meticulous, craftsmanship oriented work ethic. Stories and exhibits from Shandong Hall showcased the deeds of local model workers alongside the “Mountain Porter of Mount Tai” spirit, vividly illustrating the down to earth and responsible ethos of Qilu culture. Touching success stories, real life role models and remarkable development achievements greatly inspired the participants. They further strengthened their resolve to uphold a correct view of performance, fulfill responsibilities and pursue excellence in their respective posts, translating the power of role models into concrete action.
On the morning of May 23, the Ankang Cup knowledge contest got underway. Six teams of three competitors each took part in the event, which featured mandatory individual questions, mandatory team questions, buzzer answer rounds and risk based challenge sessions, as well as interactive audience Q&A segments, filling the venue with warm applause and cheers.
Each team stayed calm and maintained close coordination: they steadily tackled mandatory questions, raced against time for buzzer questions and bravely took on high stakes risk items. Scores fluctuated back and forth, with several overtime sessions pushing the excitement to a climax. After fierce competition, the Administration Party Mass Branch won the first prize, the R&D Center Branch took second place, and the Polyether Plant Branch claimed third prize. By encouraging learning through competition and boosting safety awareness via knowledge acquisition, the activity helped embed occupational health and safety know how in employees’ minds and enhanced their emergency response capabilities.
This was followed by the preliminary round of the Fitness Ambassador Challenge, covering three events: rope skipping, push ups and sit ups. Full of energy, participants strove to surpass themselves amid cheers and encouragement. After fair competition, Yuan Jiawei, Liu Hanwen and Song Yuyao won first place in their respective categories, embodying the corporate philosophy of Healthy Living, Joyful Work.
The Sinochem Dongda Labor Union will continue launching employee oriented activities themed Happy Chlor Alkali, Warm Hearted Dongda, so as to steadily enhance staff’s sense of wellbeing, achievement and belonging. It will motivate all employees to devote themselves whole heartedly to high quality corporate development with sound physical conditions and full enthusiasm, and make greater contributions to the company’s growth.
