“Master Yang, hurry over with the trolley to pick up watermelons!” On the afternoon of July 27, the Sinochem Dongda plant site was once again buzzing with activity following this warm reminder. Staff from the R&D Center and the Polyether Plant headed one after another to the distribution point, collected their supplies and chatted cheerfully as they carried the labor union’s thoughtful care back to their front line posts.
This is one snapshot of the regular heat relief campaign rolled out by Sinochem Dongda since the beginning of summer. Faced with persistent sweltering weather, the labor union has prioritized heatstroke prevention for employee wellbeing, distributing cooling supplies to front line workers twice every week to deliver tangible care on site.
At the distribution venue, staff were busy sorting and handing out supplies, while reminding employees to balance work and rest and take proper self protection measures. Alongside refreshing watermelons, the union also provided salt soda water and sour plum drink powder to help replenish water and electrolytes lost through sweating and effectively prevent heatstroke.
Logistics support from the union has also been tailored meticulously for outdoor operations and high temperature work posts in summer. In addition to periodic fruit and beverage distributions, emergency heat relief medicines including cooling balm and Huoxiang Zhengqi Liquid have been stocked in every work team first aid kit, enabling prompt relief for employees feeling unwell. The staff canteen has also stepped up its support by preparing ample mung bean soup every day, placed in a prominent area of the dining hall for employees to access at any time and enjoy cooling refreshments throughout the working day.
Every cooling supply carries sincere care. Sinochem Dongda earnestly implements the “Six Plus, Six Minus 2.0” work guidelines issued by the Chlor Alkali Business Division, improves the long term “Six Supports, Six Assistance” mechanism, and delivers solid heat stroke prevention arrangements. Employees stated that they will turn the union’s concern into work motivation, stay dedicated to their posts with high spirits, and guarantee safe and stable production throughout the hot summer.
