Laughter and cheers filled the ball sports venue of Sinochem Dongda on January 20. Zhu Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the company, broke the first shot at the billiards table, kicking off the joyful opening of the upgraded staff sports venue. Employees competed and exchanged skills with one another on the court, presenting a vivid practice of the company’s Happy Cube · Full Warmth series initiative launched by the Chlor-Alkali Business Division.

Previously, the relocated and upgraded table tennis venue quickly became a popular spot for employees during lunch breaks and spare time. As the number of participants continued to grow, the single table tennis table often fell short of demand. Responding precisely to staff needs, the company trade union conducted timely research and planning. It not only added one more table tennis table, but also installed a new billiards table to cater to diverse hobbies of employees. The upgrade enriches sports options, improves staff experience, and delivers tangible benefits and warmth to employees through practical services.

The newly added sports facilities have made the venue increasingly popular. During lunch hours, the table tennis area witnesses fierce yet tacit matches, while the billiards area features precise shots and continuous applause. “We used to wait in line for a table. Now with the new facilities, I can play table tennis with colleagues for 20 minutes after lunch. It eases the fatigue from long-time sitting and refreshes me for afternoon work,” said Hu Yingchun from the Finance Management Department while wiping his racket.

Li Tianxiang from the Supply Chain Management Department expressed delight over the new billiards table. “I love playing billiards in my spare time. It’s great to have access to the sport at work. Competing with colleagues relieves work fatigue and tightens team bonds.” The upgraded sports venue serves not only as a fitness space, but also a vital platform to enhance team cohesion.
