Recently, temperatures have soared above 35℃, making heatstroke prevention a top priority for employees working outdoors. In response, the labor union of Sinochem Dongda has upgraded its heatrelief initiative based on the practical needs of staff. Addressing previous feedback on wholefruit distribution — including inconvenience of cutting, storage difficulties, and limited access for onsite monitoring personnel — the union has optimized service modes to help frontline workers beat the summer heat.

Coordinating resources across functional departments together with the General Administration Department, the union arranges staff on a daily shift roster during the hot weather. Fresh fruits such as watermelons and cantaloupes are cut onsite, packed into disposable foodgrade lunch boxes, chilled with ice packs, and delivered directly to workstations in two key sessions, morning and afternoon, to meet employees’ demands in a timely manner.

The heatrelief campaign goes far beyond material supplies; it represents a heartwarming twoway commitment. Frontline employees can truly feel the care from the company’s leadership through a full spectrum of welfare measures: sufficient heatprevention supplies, emergency firstaid kits for heatrelated ailments at each work team, roundtheclock mungbean soup available in the staff canteen, and regular onsite visits by the management team. Multifaceted support effectively eases the burden of working under hightemperature conditions.

Employees commented that the freshlycut, boxed melons are refreshing, timesaving and wastereducing, allowing them to truly experience the thoughtfulness of various departments and the union as their reliable supporter.
